Vipul Kumar is Group Manger and Head of product Design - Furniture Business in Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group.

With a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (gold Medalist) and Masters in Industrial Design with specialization in Product Design, from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Vipul carries an illustrious educational back-ground.

Vipul has served Tata Motors ( Telco, then) for a period of three years and had soaked in a lot of applied engineering basics. He had been fortunate to work in all the three plants of Tata Motors in Design Departments and was one of the founding members of Design Team at Tata Motor Lucknow plant.

After completing the post graduate program at National Institute of Design, Vipul had joined Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. at Mumbai and had a long stint of six years and handled Desking design portfolio. He had also worked as R&D head at Godrej’s Storage Solutions Group at Chennai for a period of two years. These years have given him a lot of exposure in dealing with complex structures, new materials and technology. Close interaction with senior IIT, Chennai professors has added a lot to his understanding of structures.

Vipul joined Wipro Furniture Business in 2006 as Design and Development head. He has been instrumental in sphere heading the “Innovation and Design” movement through various new product launches. Working and developing new products with well renowned international designers has added to his exposure and experience. Providing the most innovative and well though solution to any design challenge has been his strength.

In his current role, Vipul heads the Product Design function for Wipro Furniture.  His commitment towards improving customer experience and offering customer-centric solutions have helped Wipro Furniture.  He and his team has been the fastest team in the industry to launch so many new and innovative products in a very short span.

Vipul has participated in several enriching workshops and programmes like “Up-Your-Service” Customer Centricity programme, ‘Key Accounts Management’ Workshop and “How to protect your Intellectual Property Rights” etc. to name a few.
