Pradyoth Raj Varma is Head Quality – C&I Lighting and Furniture Business in Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group. With a background in Electrical Engineering from KREC Surathkal, Pradyoth joined Wipro Lighting in 1996. Prior to this Pradyoth has worked with Videocon International, Aurangabad for 2 years. He handled the production line of Televisions. In Wipro Lighting Pradyoth served in the Quality function and was responsible for looking after the quality for all the Co makers of lighting division. Pradyoth was instrumental in setting up Quality system, implementing ISO 9002 certification and running many Six sigma projects for productivity and Quality improvements at these Co maker locations. When Wipro began the Six Sigma journey in 1998, Pradyoth became a Certified Black Belt in year 2000 and facilitated many projects in Lighting business in the areas of Logistics/ Sales/ Warehouse/ Vendor quality/ Productivity and cycle time reductions. In 2004, Pradyoth was entrusted with the responsibility of setting up the back end Operations of the newly formed ‘Wipro Furniture Business’. In this role as Group Operations Manager, Pradyoth has set up the back end operations of Materials & Logistics/ Quality / planning team and set up a strong vendor network for making furniture. Pradyoth also handled the Wipro Internal sales business for furniture. In 2008 Wipro decided to put up its State of the Art Furniture and Lighting Manufacturing facility at Waluj, Aurangabad. Pradyoth was instrumental in the selection of machines/ locations and setting up of this plant in a short span of 9 months. The plant was commissioned in Jan 2009. In his current role, Pradyoth heads the Quality function for both, C&I Lighting and Furniture Business, Head of the Engineering function of Furniture and handles the Internal Wipro Sales for both C&I and Lighting. Pradyoth has participated in several enriching workshops and programmes like “Up-Your-Service” Customer Centricity programme, ‘Key Accounts Management’ Workshop and the ‘Management Development Program’ at IIM Ahmedabad. | ||
